For workstation-type things, if absolute speed is your goal, then I
don't think you can do better than a loaded Ultra 40.  I have a loaded
Ultra 20, it is very fast!

Not ETA for cross-compilation, so don't hold your breath!

The main question is: what architecture do you want/need: SPARC, or x86?
If SPARC is what you're after then the ULtra 45 is the way to go, otherwise
go for the Ultra 40.

The only metric I have first hand is how long it took to compile build 17
on my Acer Ferrari 3400 laptop: about 90 minutes (it's been a while since
I built the OpenSOlaris source code, as I prefer to download Solaris
Express Community Release DVD ISOs instead).
