The sb1k/2k will never disappoint you.
It's only a bit power hungry but it is worth that extra money.
It's one of the fastest sun4u machines, still.
Very reliable, expandable (i.e. ieee1394a external hdds) and silent.
No RISC no fun.
AMD64 boxes are admittedly also tempting, I agree.
But is it love??
