The most bizzarre part is the fact that Linux drivers are completely incompatible with Solaris. One couldn't even port them without actually rewriting them from the ground up. It would seem that people who want Solaris to be GPL and use Linux drivers issue as an argument aren't even aware of this fact. Perplexing.
