Here's one: a newb should always use the `shutdown -y -g0 -i6` command, because 
the same abstracts the underlying shutdown mechanism. `init 6` is for folks 
that understand what's under the hood and also understand the ramifications, as 
well as that the mechanism might change again, as it did with the introduction 
of SMF in Solaris 10.
