Hello,
I'm trying to find a local (Brazilian) Opensolaris Community/Group, but
without luck.
The google search about that topic, gives me results like:
http://www.opensolaris-br.org (That is a shame). I'm a Solaris/POSIX big fan,
and ALL this project (OpenSolaris) is great accomplishment for the *nix
users/admins. So, we (Brazil) NEED to participate of it.
I live in Porto Alegre (state of Rio Grande do Sul), and my real objective is
create a user group here. I think that first of all, we would need a active
Brazilian user group, that all know about, and can ask for directions.
Sorry if i do not know how to use google, but the fact is that i already sent
email to SUN employes here in Brazil, and did not receive response.
I did see some OpenSolaris groups in other countries that receive
presentations and have a direct contact with (ZFS, DTrace...) developers. If we
have a organization, we could try to receive that presentations here too. I
think that a HowTo explaining the procedures to create such user groups would
be nice to OpenSolaris project. We need documentation, Howtos, mailing lists in
our language, etc.
Thanks very much for your time.
Leal.

Hi ...
If you are interested in starting a user group, we'd love to help:
We have a User Group Community here:
http://opensolaris.org/os/community/os_user_groups/
Sign up to ug-discuss here:
http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/ug-discuss
Review all the groups here:
http://opensolaris.org/os/community/os_user_groups/osug-leaders/
You will not see a Brazil group, unfortunately, so if you'd like to
start one that would be great. Ping me off list and I can walk you
through it.
Also, there is a group of people working on a Brazil portal as part of
the OpenSolaris Portal Project. See portal project here
http://opensolaris.org/os/project/portals/ Portal discussions take place
on i18n-discuss, and you can sign up here:
http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/i18n-discuss
Hope that helps. Things in the User Group community will be changing in
the coming months, but I'm happy to work with you to get this set up.
Jim
