I've a Sony VAIO VGN-SZ4XWN/C laptop which is quite an odd laptop in that it
has two graphics chipsets. It has a high performance/high power consumption
Nvidia GeForce Go 7400 as well as a lower performance/low power consumption
integrated graphics in the form of the Intel GMA 950. There is a switch on the
laptop marked 'Stamina/Speed' which selects the appropiate graphics chip.

When I first tried to install Solaris Express Developer Edition 9/07 snv_70b
X86 I had the switch in the 'Stamina' (Intel GMA 950) position. However, the
installer reported the graphics adapter was not recognised and gave me the
option of installing in text mode.

I then switched the switch to the 'Speed' (Nvidia GeForce Go 7400) position and
the installation went fine.

I would however like to get the lower power consumption chipset working, as I
rarely need the performance the Nvida GPU provides.

Funny thing is, if I switch to the 'Stamina' position and reboot, the laptop
finds the Nvida GPU and uses that - I rather expected it to boot only into text
mode.

I believe the driver has been in OpenSolaris for some time, so I would expect
it is present. So I have two questions.

1) Can I verify if the driver exists on the system?
2) Any tips on how I might be able to get the driver to work with this chip
set? Ideally it would be nice to be able to have the system find the right
driver if I switch this switch over, but failing that, I'd prefer to use the
Intel to the Nvida I am currently using, as power consumption is more important
to me than performance.
