All these benchmarks are like watching-through-peepholes: You only see a
small part.
What is the performance of all these OS when you do the benchmarks in
parallel?
- I seldom *only* do mp3-encoding or do converting images or ...
- How is the memory-management performing?
- How are the file systems performing?
Is the over-all-performance of Linux really higher than (open)solaris?
Is (open)solaris doing the whole ... mmmh ... serving ... worse or better?
... I am only asking ... :-)
Doing-it-fast is only one point ...

P.S.: We could use those "benchmarks" as a hint to speed some things up.
But Sun (or we or whoever) better do it right. So, the whole OS might do
some things better. This sometimes might be slower ...
