It's understandable that if one has the hardware, one wants to be able
to use it.  But from what I've read, fingerprint readers are not reliable
(break frequently, aren't repeatable enough for many people) and are
rather easily fooled (gelatin molds of fingerprints being perhaps
the most sophisticated approach, but not necessarily the only one).

Perhaps if a better biometric were widely available (if builtin laptop
cameras were suitable for iris recognition?) I'd be more sympathetic...
