This is good news :) Hope they stay committed to their statements. But it must bring a ROI. And I am convinced, Oracle is able to make one, out of the combination: OracleOpensolarisTheirownsparcgear. Some competition with IBM and Power. I am so glad that not IBM took over Sun. Mostly they would have had redundances in their portfolio. IBM would have killed everything, and probably not AIX in favor of Solaris, and not Power in favor of SPARC, and not their own DB in favor of MySQL. With Oracle I am at least very optimistic.
