yes, there are now two 8086,10f0 devices out there. PCI express vendor: 8086 ("Intel Corporation"), device: 10f0 ("82578DC Gigabit Network Connection")
and PCI Intel(R) PRO/100+ Dual Port Server Adapter 8086:10f0 rev 04 So at first it is intels fault to reuse pci ids. At second is the definition iprb "pci8086,10f0" e1000g "pciex8086,10f0" valid? If I a had a PRO/100+ and a 82578DC in my System would both drivers get loaded? No, the e1000g is unable to identify the 82555. dmesg says: e1000g: [ID 801725 kern.warning] WARNING: pci8086,10f0 - e1000g[1] : Identify hardware failed Thanks for your time Thomas -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
