It is set to closed / fixed, but as far as I understand it, some superfluous logging was removed from the Solaris vbox guest kernel module, but the root cause for the broken auto-resizing wasn't found, and could not be reproduced by the vbox developers. And I was able to reproduce the problem on exactly one specific combination of host os / guest os / vbox version.
