[osol-help] scsi driver + moderate I/O == panic: kernel heap corruption detected

I have just filed a bug 6721996 that I believe may be what you are seeing.  I 
was seeing it whenever I ran format on an older x86 test machine.  The problem 
is as you suspected with the ncrs driver.
