Try disabling your bios ACPI and just use the HD as ide mode vs. Sata and or try under grub e for edit down arrow to the unix boot line and add at the end of the line i.e:
unix -B disable-acpi_drv=true
Also you can boot unix unix -B disable-acpi_drv=true
when your login into as root type in and post these outputs:
/usr/lib/X11/bin/scanpci -v
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log
and
cat /var/adm/messages
