I have not yet tried jkeil's workaround, but it looks like this may also be

Are others who get the failure at 99% also seeing an error message when you
launch the gui-install app ("Failed to contact configuration server; some
possible causes are
that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale
NFS locks due to a system crash.")?
