Thanks for the feedback. You're right I checked 'ifconfig -nr' on the computer with Solaris and on the other one with BSD. The BSD returned this:
Gateway: 78.155.8.1 IP: 78.155.9.66 Netmask: 255.255.252.0 None of these values is returned on the Solaris computer. The current location I'm trying this is Switzerland, while back home is Belgium. I guess this might also have an impact. Also I remember a fourth computer with only XP that also didn't work with this router. In the end the people from the Internet provider setup a VPN connection... So what is the proper way to the change netmask/broadcast settings? This message posted from opensolaris.org
