Andrew,
The mapping you posted works. I have read a lot of threads on the GRUN boot
problems and this is the first mention of using the mapping scenario to fix the
boot problem.
To restate the original:
winxp is on ide0
opensolaris is on ide1
changing the boot order does not fix the problem
This is from the menu on the CD
title Boot from Hard Disk
rootnoverify (hd0)
chainloader +1
This is from ide1
title Windows
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
Changing the menu on ide1 to the values from the CD still does not boot.
Mapping works ....I don't know why. but thanks to Andrew.
