PS, yes that was blastwave's Xvnc server (and vncviewer); my notes say
that (with the appropriate vncviewer version) someone sitting on a Sun
should be able to access a Mac remotely with a command line like:

/opt/csw/bin/vncviewer -fullscreen -encodings Hextile my-mac:0

As I said before, "Chicken of the VNC" is a good VNC client for the Mac
to use to access a Sun's desktop remotely.

And "Vine Server" aka OSXVNC is what I use on the Mac if I want to access
it remotely from anything else - it's more compatible than the native server,
and supports much better compression techniques.

I attached a copy of my /etc/avahi/services/rfb.service file; it assumes
that Xvnc is running on the OpenSolaris box as server 6. Change the last
one or two digits of the port number as needed. I just checked - with
that in place (may need to restart the
svc:/network/dns/multicast:default
and
svc:/system/avahi-bridge-dsd:default
services after put the file into place), I _can_ use "Screen Sharing" via Finder
to access my Sun (running Blastwave's Xvnc); but there's a popup that
warns that the remote server does not support keystroke encryption. There
may be a way around that too, but I haven't played around that far yet.

Remember, all that does is _advertise_ the service - you still have to figure
out
how to run Xvnc on the Sun. I'm running SXCE and dtlogin, but most people
running OpenSolaris are probably using gdm, so I can't tell you how to set
up Xvnc to run as if it were offering just another login session with that
different
setup.
