Ah, there's only 9.3Gb here, I didn't know about the minimum...I don't think 
that has anything to do with it, though.

Not entirely sure what u want me to do here, as I said in my previous post, the 
disk is c5d1...

I also listed my partition tables above, see my last post for them, fdisk 
reported pretty much the same thing..

1)  Active   Solaris2
2)              Linux Native
3)              EXT LBA
4)              Solaris (swap)

List of slices

2 = backup (9.3Gb)
8 = boot (7.84 Mb)
9 = alternatives (15.69Mb)

Anything in particular I'm looking for?

If I view the GUI installer the disk shows up as c5d1 - and I want to install 
to the MBR of that, but if I type:
installgrub stage1 stage2 /dev/rdsk/c5d1s8

I get:
cannot open/stat device  /dev/rdsk/c5d1s2

For some reason it won't accept any slices I put...
