Slice 2 is the entire disk partition. Ignore the "backup" designation.
You should have something which looks like this after executing 'prtvtoc

0 is the root (/) partition, 1 is swap. Ignore #8 completely. If you don't
have 0 and 1 you
need to reinstall.
