The press releases I've seen mention "selected...servers", and mention some models, but I've not seen one that mentions those particular models. However, googling for the following should be appropriate for your question: solaris x3400 OR x3500 site:ibm.com OR site:sun.com The first link I saw showed someone with a recent install that couldn't get past constantly rebooting. The first links from IBM sites were for updates for those models. If it were me, I might interpret them as indicating that it might be possible (because Solaris was one of the OSs one could choose on a menu button), but I haven't used any IBM support sites recently, so I could be way off base on that interpretation. OTOH, on http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/xbc/cog/systemxnos.html which seems to be multiple tables of what's supported on which IBM x series systems, I don't see Solaris listed for the x3400 or x3500, although those tables are a bit tedious to read. The rest of the research is left as an exercise for the OP, which is to say, this isn't my thing, I was just curious enough to look a bit is all. This message posted from opensolaris.org
