I have 2 SMB shares configured and 'working' via CIFS (1.2 on snv 79a) using the zfs sharesmb property. I know they work because I can access them using the Solaris machine's file browser (Netowrk > SERVER > share). However, when I try to access them from my Windows machines, A) the password is never accepted on the Vista machine and B) the XP machine can't see the shares even if I type in the path. I know to use the SERVER\serverusername login form for windows on a workgroup; it just doesn't seem to work.
This thread: http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=216057 indicated that setting lmauth_level lower on the server might solve the problem, but I tried every value from 2 to 5 and nothing changed. Is it time for me to give up and go back to the old ways? What else can I do? This message posted from opensolaris.org
