It sounds like XP is currently using the entire disk. You need to either add another disk, or create a partition for OpenSolaris to use on your existing disk.
The latter can be done with a number of programs. I believe that the open-source Gnome Partition Manager can do this from their LiveCD: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ It's always a good idea to back up anything important (i.e. everything) when playing with partitions.
