Just make sure that ,unlike OpenSolaris, SolarisExpress needs to be payed for any/production use except evaluation/testing and that OS/Net that is inside SolarisExpress is closed source now (at least still not opened up again 'till final Solaris 11) OpenSolaris alternative with same unrestricted usage rights and it's continuation in a form of community made OS/Net is called : IllumOS (illumos.org) and IPS-based distribution is named OpenIndiana (openindiana.org) There are instructions on OpenIndiana wiki how to upgrade from snv_134 (or 134b) to OpenIndiana latest testing oi_148. After that one can download IllumOS source and build it on top of OI , instructions are on Illumos wiki and that is what is there to continue open use, testing and contribution. Just make sure NOT to upgrade zpool/zfs to SolarisExpress versions, because that will cut you off to closed source-only Oracle branch that you again, only have right to use if you pay for it (only on some selected hardware of course..) _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list opensolaris-help@opensolaris.org
