Nope, I'd say it should work.
I built [Free|Open]BSD shlib's by modifying one of the shlib/*.sh scripts,
so I was wondering the need for another mechanism.
Anyhow, I'm only building shared libraries because I want to toy with Swig.
When I'm done, I'd link the crypto into the language interpreters statically.
