Yes, I am going to build my own application (actually, several smaller apps). However, during development, it's convenient to use the openssl command to create and/or check test certs. So I think it does make some sense to use objects.txt, at least while I'm still experimenting with the stuff. In the long run, I'll move things out, so my code can be used with an off-the-shelf openssl library.
