Problem compiling s_client and s_server

I am trying to compile the s_client and s_server applications in the openssl apps directory.   I am getting an unresolved external symbol _app_RAND_load_file error compiling the s_client example.  Does anyone know which file contains the function prototype for the app_RAND_load_file function?   Marcus
