The DPMI output is not activated when a VGA monitor is connected with a
DPMI/VGA adapter and the cubieboard is powered up. Guessing, something
doesn't wait long enough for the adapter to respond. Sorry I can't
imagine too many cubieboards on DPMI monitors, but retired VGA stuff is
plentiful. ;-) The adapters are 10 bucks.

When the system is rebooted by command (from Linux, Android), the DPMI
output is activated:

There is no reset button on board, so reset is with the power cable.
Just as well I'm planning to use this headless...
