Why not release it during LinuxCon? You might could do a
"live-release" during the conference? If not, 15th would be fine.
don't be too strict on the date? Better a good release than a buggy one
do not forget RC2 is nearly identical with GM (most of the time it is
identical) and is available one week before release (time to press dvd)
you can make yours demos with RC2
You can also ask to have GM in advance
