Short of having udev duplicate the device nodes, no.

You can of course switch to mount by label/uuid and get rid of the
'classical' device names. Which is, I believe, more or less the targeted
long-term solution.

Note that the names are not the real problem with this step but that sd*
allows for less partitions per device than hd*.
