        I am plugged directly into the computer port. I have a Dell that I had 
to put 
an external powered hub for the Kb and Mouse to run Linux, works fine on the 
pre installed Win.
        
        So I am back to my original question, is there anyway to force a look 
at the 
usb ports to discover new devices?
