That looks very good from the asus website, especially the cooling
concept imho is convincing. As a slight disadvantage, the memory is
limited to 8GB, while comparable Gigabyte Boards offer 16GB max.

I never had bad experiences with Asus boards. Just had first hand
experience with bad Asus Linux support in regard to Laptops.

In consequence, I will always happily buy another motherboard from Asus,
but never ever will buy a Laptop, if Linux is the intended OS.
