That doesn't affect us (yet), because the distro only has version 3, and 
he doesn't maintain version 3: he was only involved in developing version 
4: ie, once reiserfs V3 got integrated into the kernel he abandoned it 
(AFAIK) and concentrated in V4. The maintenance of V3 was and is done by 
SuSE/Novell personnel, in fact. Thus anything he does or doesn't, even his 
personal problems, does not affect the currently used version of reiserfs 
reliability at all.


As for the reasons you asked for resiserfs no longer being the default 
choice in opensuse, they are on record since many months; ie, they were 
posted here or another related list.
