        I found where modprobe.conf sources /etc/modprobe.d/ so the whitelist
above should work. However, I can find no support for "whitelist" in man
modprobe.conf

        ADDENDUM: Firefox will no longer display web sites that contain
graphics. This is a side effect of the xorg.conf change.

        Additionally, why are the radeon kernel modules shown as loaded when
the radeon.ko and radeonfg.ko do NOT exist?
