You say you downloaded squirrelmail rather than installing from the sled install discs, so I have to ask, did you download a squirrelmail package prepared by novell for sles 10, or did you download a general purpose squirrelmail tarball from somewhere? On the sles servers where I'm running the supplied squirrelmail package, it just works. So, if you did install a do it yourself tarball, perhaps the best thing you can do is remove it, and install squirrelmail from yast. That will insure that all dependencies are installed.
