I just installed 10.3 on a new stack of hardware, and one of my SATA drives is not found/mounted.... so, I am looking for a little guidance or advice here.
The hardware is: - ASUS M2N-E motherboard (supports 4 SATA2 drives) - SATA1 RAID controller (supports 2 SATA1 drives) - 2x PATA drives connected to IDE0 - 2x SATA drives connected to the RAID card - 3x SATA drives connected to the SATA ports on the motherboard If I check in the BIOS, all drives connected to the motherboard SATA ports are detected correctly. Three of the drives are connected to the motherboard on SATA 1, SATA 2 and SATA 3. SATA 4 is empty. Two of the drives are connected to the SATA1 RAID card (and are working and mounted correctly). The IDE drives are on ODE0 (and work fine). When I boot 10.3 to install, one drive on the motherboard connectors is not found. A clean install of 10.3, and the missing drive is still not found. If I start up the YAST partitioner tool, it only sees 6 SATA drives (2xPATA, 2xSATA on the motherboard and 2x SATA on the RAID card). The missing drive is identical to the one on /dev/sdd. I have double and triple checked the connections - the BIOS shows the missing 320GB drive, so I assume the connections are fine. Something in SUSE is not playing nicely with the drive. I have included a snippet from the boot.msg file (below). Does anyone have any ideas what is going wrong here? I am kinda out of my depth on this one.
