Not quite. The TYPE mentioned on the label at the bottom is unique for the hardware. The model name itself (like X61, T60, T61p) is a collection for several types. The TYPE consists of an identifier for the hardware, and one for localization parts (like e.g. different keyboard layout). So with bug reports it's good to mention the model name (for easier identifying possible problems), and the concrete type (for identifying the hardware).
