I was making sure I understood the question before answering. This is what you normally do when the question doesn't really make any sense. If you make wild guesses as to what the person actually means without asking the "answers" you give can be totally off and actually hurt the person. God knows that shit happens on irc a lot when newbies try to help other newbies.
