Great idea!

I'm adding this, except I'm making it do this:

        else if ( Date.class.isAssignableFrom(value.getClass())) {
            result = (Date)value;
        }

So it will handle any subclass of Date. I'm also adding this for List's and
Set's.

Not checked in yet, 'cause I don't have time to finish testing, but it's
looking good so far.
