Hmmm, the DHCP Proxy does nothing for requests that are not from
configured thin clients, so it should not be a reliability or
security concern.

You can even disable that service by uninstalling it, but then
you have to redirect thin clients to the boot server via extra
DHCP options (this is also necessary in routed configurations).

That should be ok.

Please have a look at the log files to see whether there are any
problems during the server startup or client detection.

If your installation directory is /opt/openthinclient, you should
have those files:

/opt/openthinclient/server/default/data/nfs/root/var/log/syslog.log
/opt/openthinclient/server/default/data/nfs/root/var/log/server.log
/opt/openthinclient/wrapper/logs/wrapper.log

The last is the one that should help you find problems starting the
services.

If you don't know what the problem is, send the output of "netstat
-tulpen" (Linux) or "netstat -abn" (Windows) and the wrapper.log.
I will have a look then and try to identify your problem.

I already guessed that when Montreal showed up in the whois info for
your domain... >:-))

Well, ok, the default environment preset could contain some german
strings. We should try to improve that. But it should not be that
hard to cope with, is it? :-)

Well, the installed section of the package management should at least
contain the necessary stuff to get a thin client up and running. I
would get to that point first before looking for extra software.

No problem!
