Thank you Bernd, you are correct it seems to be some sort of driver issue because I tried booting a regular desktop and a regular thin client and they both booted with the Openthin Client login. The machine I have been getting issues with was a VM machine, could there be something special to be taken into consideration when working within a VMware infrastructure for testing purposes before deployment ?

This error is normally a sign that the system has no driver for your specific network card. So my question is what kind of hardware do you use? There is also a slightly updated version for atom chipsets available in our unstable/experimental repositories: http://openthinclient.org/Packages?structure=#Activate_unstable_repositories > Also I have another question, is it possible to configure a thin client to > boot into a RDP connection ? The rdesktop application can be configured to autostart and single-sign-on is also present, if thats what your asking for?
