I've done the same. More often than not, the publications (nearly two dozen) that I
subscribe to and the vendors I've utilized are honorable, but not so, with many online
presences "sign up for <insert desired thingy> NOW!!!" I am generally leery of them
and either accept that the address ( usually one of the freeby accounts; yahoo,
excite, hotmail, etc I keep around for such matters) I use will be a spammagnet, or I
just don't sign up...And yes, there are ways to keep your original safe.
Clue->(one of the privacy related free email accounts, then off to hotmail, excite, etc.
Probably should have done so when I signed up from home for PEDA, but it's too late
now...

If possible, I prefer to make 'em build a new set of blades. Virtual gunpowder,
machine guns, and the analog to those cannons they dropped on Bahgdad are so much more
effective than Don Quixote's ineffective weaponry, and with a few well placed shots to
the axle, (on rare occasions), it's a real treat to see the virtual tower come
crashing down on their heads. Even if it's just a buzzing noise, being irritating can
be an effective tool to further one's cease-and-desist order.
