Come on Ian, I very politely asked that we not continue this discussion in that
Forum, and I am sure that you are clearely aware that Mark has specifically gotten
on my case about "off topic" discussions in that Forum. Why could you not reply here
where I asked you to?

We have gone over all of this before, respecting my being "banned" from the Altium
Yahoo! DXP Forum, and I am sure that you can check the Archive for that Forum, if
you need to refresh your memory on anything.

I know that you are very good friends with some of Altiums top brass,

You insist on propagating your own distorted perception of reality as if it a universal truth. You are not good at reading and then reporting in an unbiased fashion what happens. You are prone to hyperbole. In this case you believe you know something about me that you don't.

If you wish to raise your credibility in my eyes you need to spend less time on vitriol and more on solid, undistorted, fairly reported, facts. Something, I think, you should think carefully and deeply whether you are currently doing.

It doesn't enter my mind to use the words "very good friends" unless I have real knowledge this is the case. I may not like any of the people I know at Altium. How would you know? What I think of people is irrelevant if I am to attempt to deal with them and get what I think users want.

I *know* I have a distorted sense of reality like we all do. I try, possibly unsuccessfully, to separate opinion from fact.

and I know
that you have personally discussed this issue with them in the past. I also would
remind you that I have personally discussed all of the details of this issue
directly with you in an email before, so it certainly is not the case that you are
in anyway uninformed.

Yet you persist, Why?

The only reason that I can possibly think of is that you are trying to goad me into
"dumping" on you, to the end of trying to get me banned from these forums. Please
forgive me if I don't reply in the manner that you would like me too.

I am not at all Machiavellian. I am actually very upfront. If I don't like something I say. If I do I say. I try not to carry baggage but like all of us I do. I try to recognise the baggage I carry. I had not thought up any such plan - it surprises me that anyone would or could. I am not that interested in you to spend my time plotting and planning a scheme against you.

Just remember, I may very well *not* be objecting to your message. I just find your manner self-destructive, unhelpful in developing a community and very probably, not at all helpful in achieving goals for the users.

My main concern about your behaviour is that I think it damages the user community in achieving goals. I think, you stuff things up for us as well as forcing confrontation. My reply is certainly pointed, aggressive and possible rude. It is a reply. I will try not to annoy people but I will certainly stand up if annoyed.

Let me know which features of P99SE you were responsible for? Let me know which features of DXP you were responsible for. Let me know which features of P2004 you were responsible for? I think, but do not know, my involvement and engagement with Altium has got users much more that your rants. I try hard *not* to make such claims but do so here as a manner of pointing out an alternative, friendlier, less aggressive manner of dealing with people

What makes you think your battle on ATS was exclusive to you. What was I doing at the same time? You claim to know what I do and think? Instruct us on this matter please. What were others doing at the same time?

I suspect, but am no expert, in these matters that there is an element of self-inflation your effect.

An example of where I think you arguments could be better developed:
You wrote:
"Unfortunately, due to the things that have been said recently by people such as Nick and what is appearing both on Altiums website and in various other "primotional" material, it appears that Altium in now posturing to take the latter position."

Where, what, how? Specifics please. This is an example where you write something as fact without backing it up. Your case would be so much stronger by a quote or link to something that supports your claim. I have got no impression that there would not be the same availability of service packs for P2004 as Altium have always provided. So who is correct here? What have I missed? Educate me please, but don't hoodwink me, I won't abide it.

Ian
