ok, explicitly setting those in the dts files does indeed work. lets
just do a hard cut then and change them all hoping there is not too much
b0rkage.

Now I'm confused. Does the patch work for you after all? I've been using
it with A803 (arv752dpw22, MII) and the Elisa boxes
(arv4510pw/arv7510pw, RMII) and another OpenWrt user uses it with A802
(arv752dpw, RMII). Without the patch, network works if the boot loader
does the correct initialization. With the patch, network works
regardless of the boot loader, but only with the correct mii/rmii setting.

i must have done something wrong in my first test. patch works, i fixed the 2 dts files and its sitting in my local queue now. I'll push it later with some other foo
