I'd have no problem going back to kernel 2.6 for gigabit speeds. Hell I'd
even drop wireless support completely. I can always just buy a separate
dumb 802.11 ac AP for the wifi.
I just need the f!ing speed to be maxed out through my fiber installed in
my home.
