without currently being able to verify this, I assume the problem is
that the XML configuration is not quite correct. The error message
suggests that
<ldap_options>
<ldap_enable>yes</ldap_enable>
<ldap_excluded_roles>publish_all_roles</ldap_excluded_roles>
<ldap_suffixes>
<ldap_suffix>dc=yyyyyyyy</ldap_suffix>
</ldap_suffixes>
should work.
