You may want to check container4NFV group. This group has been working on
to make sure that containers can be used in NFV world to realize VNFs.

As you know, some of the challenges for container in NFV world are :

1. Need for multiple interfaces.
2. Need for programmable virtual switches.
3. Co-existence with VMs (workloads that require VM level isolation)
4. Common network across VMs and containers.
5. Single VIM managing both VMs and containers and even to bring up VMs
and containers on the same compute node.

Container4NFV group is trying to prove above using

1. K8S Orchestrator with virtlet : To bring up both VMs and containers.
2. Multus CNI - For making multiple interfaces available to VMs and
containers.
3. OVN with Multus - To allow programmable virtual switches and to make
networks available for both VMs and containers.

Thanks
