Hi all
I'm new to this list and I'm currently struggling to get mysql working on my
Sol 10 11/06 s10s_u3wos_10 SPARC server.
I loaded mysql-5.0.51-sol10-sparc-local and did what the installation manual
told me to do without any problems, however when I try to do option:
6. Ensure the MySQL root password has been set to a known value: mysqladmin -u
root password {password} I get the following error:
r...@fkdev:/usr/local/mysql/bin # ./mysqladmin -u root password
./mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'and I
cannot get past it. I'm not a dba but it lookslike I cannot connect to the sql
server. How can I ix this.RegardsQuintin
