Which server is monitoring the host - the master or the slave? Currently the server doing the monitoring sends out the alert email (we may change this in the future so its the master sending the notifications, but it will be configurable)
Have you got the settings correct within Opsview for using smsgateway? Does the 'send test email' work on the sms configuration page?
Just to complicate things, the GSM modem is plugged into the Opsview slave not the master, the SMS Notification preferences say "Run on Monitoring Server" rather than "Run on Master" and yes, the host is being monitored from the slave, not the master. I can't get physical access to the master, as it's 40 miles away in the centre of London.
The master will be unable to send text messages currently - as for email, can you send test messages from your server? i.e.
date | mailx -s "testing" <email address>Is there anything in your mailq? Opsview just drops any generated emails into the server MTA queue for processing - it is then up to the server MTA to send emails correctly.
