Hi folks, I've gone a bit mumble headed with this one - trying to use host exceptions to service checks. I can't find the docs on it nor something really specific enough in this list despite a fair bit of googling etc.
Here's what I need to do: I have a service that is working fine as a hard-coded check: plugin: check_by_ssh arguments: -H localhost -l promptu -C atv-nagios-alerts -p 6991 ... but I want to be able to parameterise the '-p 6991' bit for every host. So in the host definition under 'monitors' I check that service and open up the 'exceptions' entry-box. Faced with a nice blank field I tried a few variations but from my reading, the most likely one would be to put '-p 6991' in there. Sadly, when it runs I get an error - something about I have to provide a hostname - which is kinda odd since I'm not fritzing with the hostname. So I tried putting '-p 0' into the service definition - same result. I tried blanking out the '-p xxxx' in the service definition. No joy. No doubt it's right under my nose, but I just can't see it. Anyone?
