It is sparsely sunken.
I experienced this symptom when traffic counter (usally 32bit) is
overflowed between checking intervals.
So I debugged check_snmp_linkstatus script but It gets 64bit counter
well.
Where does this problem come from?
I've been investigating this and from your IRC conversation with
Duncs, you are right in that we reset the last counter value and the
last time when a rescan occurs.
I've updated the plugin so that it retains the last values over a
rescan of devices.
The plugin can be run alongside the existing check_snmp_linkstatus, so
I've been testing internally by setting up a new service check to look
at a specific interface to compare the graphs.
Plugin can be found here:
https://secure.opsera.com/wsvn/wsvn/opsview/branches/BRAN-3.3/opsview-core/nagios-plugins/check_snmp_linkstatus
This should resolve the sparsely sunken issue.
